Buying boots for your body type

This one is for Shona, but I'm sure many of you will find it helpful. (If there are any other style related topics anyone would like me to blog about please send me your requests too)

We all love a boot in cooler weather. They look fantastic over skinny jeans or with dresses and skirts, but it can be tricky to find the right fit for you. Never fear though, just like clothes there are styles out there for all of us.

Petite women: Ankle, knee high and calf length will work. Over the knee will shorten you.

Short/ curvier women: Knee and ankle will suit you best as calf length may shorten your leg and widen your calf.

Tall/thin women: All lengths will work for you.

Tall/curvier women: all lengths will work for you too, but if you have bigger calfs the calf length should be avoided.

The heel of the boot is important too. A heel always lengthens and slims the leg. If you have a thicker ankle and calf a wedge or more solid heel will suit you best. Kitten heels work best on slim legs and flats are great if you are tall.

In general, a long boot is more flattering if it is fitted around the calf and ankle. If you have a wider calf the elastic back boots are fantastic.

If you are still confused, incorporate boots into your autumn/winter personal shopping session and I can explain the best looks for you and also give you tips on colour, and ways to wear your boots to be the most fantastic version of you. xxx
